COLORING CONTEST RESULTS

Congratulations to our SVSEI's three Explorer Coloring/Art contest winners: Thomas Fee, lower elementary school and grand prize winner, Pari Patel, upper elementary school winner, and Charlie Goulart (not pictured above), middle school winner. The former two winners received their awards at this year's EXPLORE STEAM Fair. Go to our Explorer Coloring Contest page to see the winning artwork.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

EXPLORE STEAM FAIR '26

South Valley Science and Engineering Initiative's (SVSEI's) free, fun, family oriented 2026 EXPLORE STEAM FAIR was held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Morgan Hill Unified School District's (MHUSD's) Live Oak High School small gym from 11am-2pm. This free, fun, family friendly, science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) event , meant for TK-adults, had over 315 fairgoers, 24 activity booths with over 40 booth partners and their assistants, and 51 community volunteers. 

 

What did we have?

  • Robotics -drivable, coding, drawing, maze running​

  • Scribblebots

  • Keva planks

  • Merge EDU cubes

  • Vacuum forming

  • Resin and sand art, gold foiling, glitter planets, and critter in a capsule

  • Watershed modeling, vermicomposting, and interactive SW sorting

  • Balloon hovercrafts

  • Arduino circuitry builds

  • Air powered rockets

  • Straw rockets

  • Whirligigs

  • Coding

  • Coloring

  • Floating boats challenge and smelling test

  • Battery circuitry, marshmallow towers, and straw flutes

  • Hot Wheels Speedometry

  • Interactive computer game

  • Density tubes and cellular respiration labs

  • UV beads and potting native plants

  • Candy DNA, insulating cups, and music making
