SVSEI's Explorer Coloring Contest
Meet Explorer, SVSEI's STEAM fair mascot, designed and sketched by local illustrator Mark Hoffman. We asked our local children to help us decorate Explorer and its background, with imagination and the best use of space and color being the contest criteria. Computer generated artwork was not allowed.
Here are the three winning entries:

At EXPLORE '26, each winner will receive a $100 Booksmart gift card and the book "Kid Scientists - True Tales of Childhood From Science Superstars" by David Stabler and illustrated by Anoosha Syed.
Our grand prize winner, Thomas Fee, had his artwork become SVSEI's official mascot design, appearing on the 2026 EXPLORE STEAM Fair flyer and online materials (including the SVSEI Facebook page).
