In addition to hosting our EXPLORE STEAM Fairs, SVSEI provides hands- and minds-on STEAM activities at other community organizations' events, collaborates with MHUSD, and conducted a south county wide coloring contest to embellish our organization mascot Explorer.
Thanks for joining us at Live Oak High School's 12/8/24 STEM Night, AAUW-Morgan Hill's 4/12/26 Wildflower Run, the 5/5/26 Art a la Carte, 8/5/25 National Night Out, and the 9/27/25 Youth Mariachi Concert.

MHUSD Collaboration
​
SVSEI is very excited to collaborate with Morgan Hill Unified School District (MHUSD) in showcasing their STEAM activities at our free, fun, family oriented EXPLORE STEAM Fairs. On August 4, 2024, Live Oak High School's robotics team was an EXPLORE activity partner. PA Walsh, Jackson Academy of Math and Music, San Martin Gwinn, and Sobrato High School joined us for EXPLORE '25. For EXPLORE '26, 12 out of 14 MHUSD campuses participated: Ann Sobrato High School, Barrett Elementary School, Britton Middle School, Elementary Toro Health Science Academy, Jackson Academy of Math and Music, Live Oak High School, Los Paseos Elementary School, Martin Murphy Middle School, Nordstrom Elementary School, Paradise Valley Engineering Academy, P.A. Walsh Elementary School, and San Martin/Gwinn Environmental Science Academy.
Join us on February 6, 2027, to play at activity booths sponsored and staffed by additional Morgan Hill schools, their students, and faculty.
SVSEI has collaborated with the Morgan Hill Unified School District to provide nature journaling short courses to 5th grade students during both the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 school years at PA Walsh Elementary School. Nature journaling is a fun way to exercise your curiosity and creativity while honing your observation and scientific method skills.

Explorer Coloring Contest​
Explorer, SVSEI's STEAM fair mascot, was designed and sketched by local illustrator Mark Hoffman. During the 2025-2026 school year, SVSEI ran a south county wide school coloring contest to help us decorate Explorer and its background, with imagination and the best use of space and color being the contest criteria. Our three winners were: Thomas Fee, lower elementary school and grand prize winner, Pari Patel, upper elementary school winner, and Charlie Goulart (not pictured above), middle school winner.
